BSID #884963
and provides:
Grades 9–12 Ontario Courses
OSSD Pathway Planning

The objective is to provide students with a structured Ontario high school pathway rather than disconnected individual courses.
WHAT DOES BSID MEAN?
BSID stands for:
BOARD SCHOOL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER
Victoria Academy's school identification number is:
884963
Students and parents researching OSSD schools should understand:
Which Ontario school is providing the courses
Who maintains the academic record
How courses are delivered
How credits are earned
Which graduation requirements apply
and how the student's academic plan is structured.
OSSD GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Students cannot receive the OSSD simply by completing one online course.
The full diploma requires completion of the applicable Ontario graduation requirements.
A student's pathway may involve:
Required Credits
Optional Credits
Ontario Literacy Requirement
Community Involvement
Online Learning Requirement
Other Applicable Graduation Requirements
The exact requirements can depend on:
Student's academic history
Entry point
Previous learning
Ontario policies
and academic review.
Every student should receive an individual academic plan.
HOW MANY CREDITS DOES THE OSSD REQUIRE?
The Ontario Secondary School Diploma generally requires:
30 CREDITS
along with the applicable additional graduation requirements.
However, international students entering after already completing secondary-school studies may have previous learning reviewed.
This means:
NOT EVERY INTERNATIONAL STUDENT NECESSARILY STARTS FROM ZERO.
The student's previous records can be reviewed to determine the appropriate Ontario pathway.
CAN PREVIOUS SCHOOL STUDIES COUNT?
Previous secondary-school education may be reviewed for Ontario credit recognition.
The review can consider:
Previous Marksheets
Subjects Completed
Years of Schooling
Grade Level
Academic Results
Ontario Requirements
Student Eligibility
Where appropriate, prior learning can help avoid unnecessarily repeating equivalent secondary-school education.
The final decision depends on academic review.
CAN STUDENTS START OSSD IN GRADE 9?
YES, SUBJECT TO ADMISSION ELIGIBILITY.
Students may begin the Ontario pathway in Grade 9.
Starting earlier can provide more time to:
Build Ontario credits
Develop Canadian academic skills
Plan university prerequisites
and progress toward OSSD requirements gradually.
CAN STUDENTS START OSSD IN GRADE 10?
Eligible Grade 10 students may apply.
Previous academic work can be reviewed as part of developing the student's Ontario academic plan.
CAN STUDENTS START OSSD IN GRADE 11?
Eligible Grade 11 students may also apply.
Because the student has already completed significant high school education, academic-record review becomes especially important.
CAN STUDENTS START OSSD IN GRADE 12?
In some circumstances, eligible students entering at the Grade 12 level may pursue an Ontario pathway after detailed academic review.
The actual number and type of remaining requirements depend on the student's previous education and individual Ontario academic record.

Assignments
Projects
Quizzes
Tests

Presentations
and other course activities.
